The Punjabi Language Program
at
San Jose State University
Starting August 26, 1998, San Jose State University
will offer introductory courses in Punjabi. The courses will provide an
excellent opportunity for Punjabi students to learn the Language of their
Gurus, Bhagats and Pirs in the Gurmukhi Script. Students will develop
speaking, reading and writing skills in Punjabi. This will enable them to
read from the sacred writings of the Sikh Gurus and Muslim Mystic Poets.
They will also learn more about Punjabi songs, dances, arts and crafts
which will be introduced through audio and video teaching materials.
The course will fulfill Lower Division General
Elective requirements at San Jose State University. Members of the
community can register for the class through the Continuing Education
Department.
Please Support San Jose State University historic
decision to establish a Punjabi Program by encouraging members of our
community to register for the course and with your generous Financial
