| Welcome
to the website of NSA at SJSU. We are an on-campus organization that seeks
to enrich the San Jose State community with the culture of the most populous
black nation in the world.
Nigeria,
a country rich in culture and heritage is located on the Atlantic coast
of West Africa. This country has the largest number of black citizens
in the world, followed by Brazil and the United States. As members of
this organization, this is what we represent.
Membership in NSA is not limited
to Nigerians on our campus but anyone who is willing to learn about Nigerian
or African culture in general. Even if you come from a strong cultural
background other than ours, you are highly encouraged to come join and
share your culture with us. We have so many activities year round but
our flagship event remains the Nigerian Cultural Day
which is usually held in the fall of every school year. There are also
activities to mark Nigeria's Independence which falls on October 1st of
every year. Furthermore, NSA actively takes part in events for African
Awareness month on campus which commemorates the nationally recognized
Black History Month in February.
For membership and other detailed
info, please Contact Us.
