Hindu Yuva Events Republic Day

Hindu Yuva, San Jose State University Shakha celebrated India's 67th Republic Day with great enthusiasm and respect. The students took pride in glorifying and celebrating the spirit of unity. To mark the importance of this day, a grand celebration was held in the school, and many activities were planned in the school premises. The school echoed with patriotic fervor as the Students performed Surya Namaskar as sign for healthy New Year, sang patriotic song, and even wore tri-colored clothes to mark the occasion. San Jose State University Hindu Yuva Shakha celebrated the Republic Day in the school premises starting with the Hindu Yuva introduction – introducing themselves to the newly admitted Spring 2016 batch students followed by hoisting our National Flag as well as the US National flag. This was a gesture of deep respect to the host country. The campus echoed with National Anthem and Vande Mataram – a tribute to our homeland country. To make the Republic Day more meaningful, Hindu Yuva students also conducted Surya Namaskar which was performed by students whole heartedly. This was one of the important element of the program, where students were told the importance of Surya Namaskar and to practice it daily. Later, fun activities were also held where the students were divided into four groups, each group were assigned two volunteers. These volunteers conducted games like ice breakers, Dodge ball, etc. The motto behind these fun activities was to introduce students to each other and inculcate skills like team spirit, leadership, etc. The Program concluded up with the Vote of thanks. At the end sweets were distributed to the students. Indeed, it was a day of joy, a day to love and respect our country and make it a better place for Indians to live and experience the freedom, peace and unity in diversity. Jai Hind.
